General Color Conventions in Avionics Maps
Terrain & Obstacles:

Green – Safe terrain (well below the aircraft)
Yellow – Caution terrain (near the aircraft altitude)
Red – Dangerous terrain (at or above aircraft altitude)
Airspaces & Navigation Aids:

Blue – Waypoints, airports, and navaids (VOR, NDB, etc.)
Magenta – User-defined waypoints or flight plan routes
Cyan (Light Blue) – Airway structures, grid lines, and some data overlays
Weather & Radar Returns:

Green – Light precipitation
Yellow – Moderate precipitation
Red – Heavy precipitation (potentially severe weather)
Magenta – Extreme turbulence or convective activity (dangerous)
Aircraft Path & Traffic:

White – Current flight plan route and aircraft position
Magenta – Active flight plan route (on some systems)
Blue – Other aircraft (non-conflicting traffic)
Yellow – Caution traffic (close proximity)
Red – Warning traffic (collision threat, TCAS alert)
Ground & Runway Indicators:

Brown – Landmasses (on some moving maps)
Black – Ground surfaces
Gray – Non-detailed terrain
White – Runways and airport layouts
Warnings & Alerts:

Red – Immediate danger (e.g., terrain warning, stall warning)
Amber/Yellow – Cautionary alert (e.g., low fuel, advisory message)
Green – Normal operation status (e.g., system checks)
